What do you do when you can’t fall asleep?

David Oliveira · 22/04/2021 · Leave a Comment

So you can’t fall asleep? I do have the same problem. I researched, and here’s what we can do to fall asleep in just two minutes.

Can’t fall asleep?

It’s annoying, I know.

Sometimes I stay hours rolling left and right and can’t fall asleep.

It’s not fair that some people just lay down and fall asleep, while others need to count to 1 MILLION before finally go to sleep.

I wish I was one of the people that can be asleep in two seconds.

Fall asleep in just two minutes!

Understand that if you maintain a balanced diet and exercise regularly, your mind will also feel better and at ease.

A good sleep routine can have a HUGE impact in your wellbeing. You’ll feel more energetic, your mood will improve significantly and your stress levels will decrease.

What I am trying to say is that your sleeping habits can improve your health as well as avoid many dangerous diseases.

Now, let’s talk about the technique that will help you fall asleep in just two minutes.

Relax Your Body

Lay down and relax your whole body.

Concentrate.

Focus on each area of your body, one by one.

Start on your face. Feel each part of your face. When you do move on to the next part of your face, and then to the next part of your body.

You’re off to a great start.

This one exercise alone will help you relax.

It helps me!

Relax your shoulders. Remember to find a comfortable position in bed. You don’t want to feel to hot or too cold, so keep that in mind too.

Breathe!

Again, concentrate on your breathing. Feel your lungs moving while breathing in and breathing out. Do it slowly.

Breath in.

Breath out.

Continue to work on relax your body until you feel lighter and calm.

Relax Your Mind

Equally important when it comes to a good night of sleep is to make sure you’re able to relax your mind.

How will you do that?

You have got to clear your mind!

After a long day, you probably have a million things in your mind. If you don’t get rid of all those thoughts, you’ll definitely struggle to sleep. You’ll do it like me and roll round and round for hours in bed.

Well, here’s what you need to do to fall asleep faster.

Don’t think about anything that has happened during your busy day, and do not think about your commitments for tomorrow.

Start small. Do not think about anything at all for 30 seconds. Can you do that? The best tip here is to concentrate on your breathing. Can you hear your own breathing? If you don’t is because your brain is still too busy thinking about something else.

When you’re ready, start thinking again, but this time you’ll only think about beautiful and relaxing scenarios.

Ocean?

Blue sky?

Waterfall?

What’s the point?

You want tour mind to stay away from all other busy thoughts that will keep you awake for hours.

Before you go to bed!

Here’s a video that might help you relax before you go to bed.

I don’t recommend you watch it in bed, but listening to it while reading a book might be a good idea.

There are tons of other relaxing videos on YouTube. Pick one.
