OSHO – An Intriguing & Surprisingly Interesting Lesson

I watched Wild Wild Country on Netflix and learned about OSHO.
Now I’m curious and to know more.

Have you watched Wild Wild Country on Netflix?

It’s an interesting 6-part documentary about the spiritual guru Bhagwan Rajneesh, now known as Osho. He was loved by his followers and hated by the people of Oregon.

I suggest you search for him on YouTube.

Before I continue, I will say this:

Many years ago, I used to go to church and be a devoted catholic. That was before I start to pay attention to my science classes.

Now, I have mixed feelings about the documentary.

Here’s why:

Osho was an Indian spiritual guru that, over the years, managed to gather millions of followers. That’s okay. Apparently, he used to give awesome speeches – he was a modern thinker with innovative ideas and was not afraid to share them with the world. Kudos to him.

He encouraged peace, love, equality and many other things that humanity needs to live in harmony. Who wouldn’t like to live in a world where everyone is full of joy?

So, in theory, this could well be the best community ever created.

The problem was that, for some reason, Bhagwan Rajneesh moved his community from India to Oregon. While doing it, Sheela, his secretary, committed many crimes, some of them almost unbelievable.

Maybe the cult leader had nothing to do with it but surely was aware of what was going on, making him a criminal.

I suggest you watch Wild Wild Country so that you can form your own opinion on this matter.

What is Osho?

In my understanding, Osho is both the guru (now dead) and the movement (almost religion) that he created over 30 or 40 years ago but is still thriving and has millions of followers all over the world.

I looked into their website, and it seems that they are now a massive enterprise, a movement that teaches people how to live life through meditation.

Maybe he was a mindfulness revolutionary and ambassador, I don’t know.

There are loads of Osho Books on Amazon.

If you’re into mindfulness, perhaps you want to give it a go and learn more about Osho. I have heard about it before, but it’s interesting to know where this word came from.
