I know that I’m only 32 (now you know) but a mini-retirement would be awesome right now.
Is that a crazy idea?
Not according to Tim Ferriss, the author of “The 4-Hour Work Week”.
He suggests that we take mini-retirements instead of one long retirement at the end of our life. That makes total sense to me.
Why do we spend an entire life working 40+ hours a week, hoping to have a blissful time when we get old? Not smart, not smart at all.
Tim went from $40,000 dollars per year and 80 hours per week to $40,000 per month and 4 hours per week.
When we are old, we will not have the energy and the braveness to do the things that we’re willing to do today. If I could, I would travel the world, explore cities and get to know different cultures around the world. I don’t think I will do that when I’m 70 and my bladder tells me to go for a wee every 10 minutes. Now is the time, now is the perfect time for a mini-retirement.
In my opinion, we should live one day at a time. We should enjoy every second of our lives, create memories and have fun while we can. I have visited a few countries but there are so many that I’d like to see before I die. I need to make all these trips throughout my life, not in the last five years of it. A plan would be nice.
